I remember the first time it rained after I moved to Clovis. It had been months without a single shower. Coming from Oklahoma City, this was a huge shock for me. The day it poured, I cried! I danced on my front porch and just watched it come down and I thanked God over and over! I praised him! We needed it so badly.

There are so many times in our spiritual walks where we become dry. Maybe we aren’t in the word like we should be. Maybe we aren’t praying daily. Maybe we are facing an ongoing sin. Or maybe God hasn’t “answered” our prayers. There are seasons in our lives where we face the big drought. We all face it at different times in our lives. Some of us are in it now while others are dancing in the rain!

When we think of rain in a spiritual aspect, we think of God’s blessings. We read it in scripture:

“I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.” - Leviticus 26:4

What if we looked at the droughts the same way? I truly believe that God can bless us with a drought. He may allow us to become dry so that we can thirst for Him. He may shut down our dream to reveal His plan for our life later on. Or He may simply make us wait for the answer.

Droughts are hard! While we experience this drought, we can’t question His faithfulness. He is good! And He has blessings in store. We can dance in the drought and wait for the sweet rain.

“Come, let us return to the Lord; for he has torn us, that he may heal us; he has struck us down, and he will bind us up. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will raise us up, that we may live before him. Let us know; let us press on to know the Lord; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth.” - Hosea 6:1-3
