I’m ready now

Yikes! Those are the words we all sang on Sunday morning. So, here we are on Wednesday and have we given that much thought? How was work yesterday? How about school? How did I respond to “interruptions”?

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “We are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.” Now, it doesn’t say we should be Christ’s ambassadors, it says we are. You may say, “I don’t want to be an ambassador.”

Joseph didn’t get to say, “Wait a minute God. This isn’t the time for me to be sold as a slave to Egypt. I don’t want to be your ambassador.” But, as we learned, God had a plan in Genesis 39:21, But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him steadfast love. . .and Gen. 50:19-20 “Do not fear, for am I in the place of God?  As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.”

On Sunday, it seemed easy to sing, “Do what You will”, but it’s not so easy in everyday life. This requires surrendering daily my agenda for His. I’ve been reminded this week that people are sizing us up, seeing whether Jesus Christ is living through us; if this is a Jesus they would want. We say, “Well, I don’t like that responsibility.” We can’t get out of it. Derek shared with us Sunday, “God’s plan in our life often looks very different than our plan for our life”.

Just doing a self-check today.

Take my hands

They’re Yours not mine to do

Do what You will, do what You will

I know I’m forgiven in Your eyes

So wash me and make me shine like Your Son

I want to tell everyone that You’re the only One

I’m ready now, I’m ready now

Do what You will
