Advent: arrival or coming

The Hebrews looked forward to the coming of a Savior or Messiah- the First Advent. As the Church, we look forward to the Second Advent – Christ’s return.

Today, what does “Advent” mean to you? Traditionally, it’s the four-week countdown leading to Christmas. I am on the eve of leaving on a mission trip to Belize. I am excited to go for the first time around the Christmas season. Expectancy is the definition of advent for me this year. Asking the Father to guide these next days, to help me love like He loves us. When I gave my life to Christ, I had no idea where He’d take me, what He’d ask of me, and how He’d bless me. This Christmas, I am thankful for my Savior, for His mercy, His comfort, His strength, His “ADVENTure”.

I appreciate your prayers as our team is in Belize in the next week. May God help you realize the ADVENTure He has you on as well, no matter where He has you!

Merry Christmas!
