Hello! Yes it has been too long since my last BLOG! My bad. Well here is the scoop. Our church has moved to our new location at 2221 West Llano Estacado. It is true we have NO Air Conditioning (YET). They are working on it as I write this Blog. This Sunday we may not have Air, but I believe that we will by July 31st. I realize summer is hectic for everyone, and so I wanted to give you some updates. First, let me say that VBS has been a great thing for our church and our Children’s Minister Jessica Tivis is amazing. Our Worship leader Ronnie Cole has been leading us in some amazing worship despite the transition and lack of certain things we were used to in our other facility. Our Financial Administrative Assistant Cindy Wall has been doing a great job getting ready for one of the most exciting mission opportunities I have ever been a part of. The Baptist Convention of New Mexico has partnered with The Word at Work www.twaw.org along with Central Baptist Church and The Vine to send over 100 volunteers to Belize on August 1-7. We will be training over 2000 Teachers a curriculum they can use in teaching spirituality to their students. The Vine Community Church as been very involved in training all the volunteers and will be taking 5 trainers from our church to lead in this mission venture. Our church will also be leading a Medical team in Belize July 26- August 1 to educate people in Human trafficking and Sexual assault victims. While I am there I will be updating on Facebook and this blog to allow you an opportunity to follow the trips and know what prayer concerns we encounter on a daily basis. I will also try and send a video to play during the Sunday service. Next, on September 18th our church will constitute and incorporate as a church. What this means is that our church will stand on our own and go for what I believe is God’s vision for our church. We will also be starting a monthly service project, this month we will be helping with a 5K run put on by www.nourish5k.com this Saturday July 23 at Hillcrest Park from 7-10 AM. If you would like to help, put your Vine T-Shirt on and come on out to the park. There are many things going on and I realize I may be rambling a bit but just remember God has you where He can use you in your life and I can’t wait to see what He has for our church as we seek Him. May God bless you this week and I look forward to seeing all of you this Sunday as we celebrate together.

God bless,

Derek Osburn
