We must be followers of Christ and his example in trusting and obeying the Father. We need to know his will for us and believe and trust that his ways are perfect. We have to become obedient, like Christ, to the point of death, even death on a cross.

5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7 but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.                            Philippians 2:5-11

Though he was God, he humbled himself, putting on the form of a human and servant. He had every right to destroy all of creation for its disobedience and sin, yet his plan from the beginning has always been love. God so loved the world. Let’s put our trust in him.

“To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul.

O my God, in you I trust;

let me not be put to shame;
let not my enemies exult over me.

Indeed, none who wait for you shall be put to shame;
they shall be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths.

Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long.

Remember your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,
for they have been from of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions;
according to your steadfast love remember me,
for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!”
