Have you ever had some amazing news for someone, or an amazing gift that you want them to have, and so you sent it to them and you just could not wait to hear if they received it? You could not wait to hear from them and how much they loved it or needed it or just didn’t deserve it?
This is where we are, Jesus is speaking to God in John 17:18“As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.”
We have been sent into the world to do just as Jesus did.
What is that?
To preach, teach, and love others.
And just like the time you sent something to someone and waited for a response, Jesus is waiting to hear from the world about His gift.
Has the world responded to God because you were sent?
Has anyone prayed to receive Jesus, thanking Him for you because you shared Christ with them?
These are valid questions we need to ask ourselves because if we have not delivered the gospel then why are we here calling ourselves Christ-followers? Why are we going to church to learn and celebrate when we put nothing into practice? Why would we waste our time on Easter if we are not taking up our own cross daily?
This week is called Passion Week because it is the last week leading up to the crucifixion of Christ. Just as I asked you to read John 13-17 in preparation of this Sunday, I ask that you read the following passages in preparation of Easter.
Monday: Matthew 26:36-27:56
Tuesday: Mark 14:32-15:40
Wednesday: Luke 22:39-23:56
Thursday: John 18:1-19:42
I will see you Sunday.
Have a great day,
